Packing It In - Update

We though as it's been a little while since we announced the challenges that lay ahead for Richard and Alex, that we ought to update you on their progress.

Richard, we are pleased to say - has now been without a ciggy for 21 weeks, and has now been without patches for 14 weeks. He's never looked back - he can appreciate the wonderful cooking he does even more now, and has become the non-smoker that smokers hate - because he can smell smokers on the bus now and doesn't like it!! Congratulations Richard - great work.

As for Alex, he started his diet at 17st 1 lb, and is currently weighing in at 14st 11lb. That's a loss of more than 2 stone, or as he'd rather put it 32lbs (because it sounds better). It looks like he's been able to raise around £500 for Sue Ryder Leckhampton from generous family and friends at Dynmark and Avelo, as they sponsored him to lose the first 2st. It does mean that he has to drink white wine and soda at gigs now, instead of the Shy Teds mandatory gallon of Ale / Lager but it's all worth it. Read about it at The FatboySlim Challenge.

So there you have it - two healthier Shy Teds - means we'll be around for a little while yet!

We're Packing It In!

richardfagWell, it's not strictly true, however two of the Shy Teds are making considerable changes to their lifestyles.

First up is Richard - he's given up smoking. Cold Turkey. Now, if you know Richard - you know he smoked. A lot. However, he decided five weeks ago to give up and so far he's stuck to it. Congratulations Rich.

Second up is Alex - or as he was known at Kingsholm - "Chubby". He's giving up chips, cake, lager, ale, bread, chocolate, sweets in an attempt to lose a bit of weight. He started five weeks ago, and has so far lost 12lb. Again, if you know Alex you know how much he loves cake, chocolate and anything that is bad for you. You can read about it on his blog www.fatboyslimchallenge.co.uk where you can read about why hes doing, and if you can spare anything please donate to his fundraising page www.justgiving.com/fatboyslimchallenge.

Hope to see you all at a gig soon.

Recording Nearly Complete

A quick update on the recording we started in the new year. We've finished everything albeit for a couple bits that we need to go back over - overall, it's sounding really good.

We've recorded the following:

  1. Queen Medley (Bohemian Rhapsody, One Vision, I Want To Break Free, Don't Stop Me Now)
  2. Ska Medley (The Prince, Gangsters, Too Much Too Young)
  3. 80s Medley (Jump, You Give Love a Bad Name, Sit Down)
  4. I Love It When You Call
  5. Sex On Fire
  6. Rockin' All Over The World
  7. Live And Let Die
  8. I'll Take You There
  9. Pinball Wizard

So, it shouldn't be long before we have some CDs available to purchase at gigs, or through our site. We also had enquiries a while back for some t-shirts with the pint logo on them. If you are interested, then let us know through the Contact Us page - and we'll looko at getting something together.

That's it for now, however we hope to have some news soon of an exciting gig later this year...

Busy 2011

We're not even out of January, and it's already looking like we are going to have a busy year again! We've got lots of weddings to look forward to and several bank holiday jollys at the Gala Club, Baker Street and Old Richians Rugby Club. Keep an eye on our Gig List to keep up to date with our gigs this year.

We're playing again this year at the Frocester Cricket Club Dinner (1st Jul), the Longney School Summer Ball (2nd Jul), the Whitminster Harvest Ball (15th Oct) and we also have a date penned in for the Gloucester Athletics Club Ball too. So, if you are able to get tickets for any of these functions - make sure you do, because they are a great fun.

We've also been busy recording some tracks over the holidays. Amongst others, we have recorded our Queen Medley, Live & Let Die, Ska Medley and Sex on Fire. All in all, we have 12 tracks that'll be ready soon - firstly to put on the site and secondly to print as CD's which we will also make available hopefully in a new online shop.

Hope to see you at a gig soon.

Christmas Videos I

Christmas-Tree-iconWell, not only do we have a brand new website as part of our Christmas gifts - we also have some special videos too. Ex-Shy Ted Daryl has obviously been very busy and has put together a few videos for everyone to enjoy, and for a couple of people to no-so-enjoy!

First up is a metal rendition of a christmas classic. I doubt that the real Shy-Teds could fit into those trousers - well maybe except Ian and Paul?
