Thanks for visiting and having a look at our little bit of cyberspace. You may have already seen us, but in case you haven’t we are The Shy Teds, a 5-piece band from Gloucester playing a wide variety of events and venues.

Our line up consists of Ozzie our singer, Ian on guitar, Richard on drums, Paul on Bass and Alex on Keyboards. We don’t have any predefined era or style of music, we tend to play anything that is good – which means that out set list is quite varied and we tend to play something for everyone.

We started as a group of friends that would go out on the “pop” most bank holidays. Rather than spend money drinking, they decided to get a band together and go playing instead – still having a drink, but playing a bit of music and getting paid for it. What started as a bit of fun on a bank holiday soon saw more regular pub gigs at venues in Gloucester like the Welsh Harp, the Deans Walk and the Ridge & Furrow.

Playing more around Gloucester meant more exposure and it wasn’t long before we were being booked for weddings, engagements, birthdays, beer festivals, outdoor functions, anniversaries - you name it. Through out it all though, we’ve managed to maintain an element of fun and that seems to rub off on our audience. We aren’t a stuffy function band that takes themselves too seriously – we love playing music and we love playing to people who are up for a good time.

You don’t need to worry about anything if you book us for your event. We bring all our own gear, we don’t demand anything (like blue M&Ms, or sandwiches without crusts) and we’ll set up at a time to suit you. If you require a disco as well as us, and didn’t have anything already in mind we can put you in touch with a range of people that will cater to your tastes.
